Winter wedding invitation page with candlelight, snow plans and sunset times
A winter wedding asks more of guests than a summer one: the light may be gone before the speeches end, the car park may need a shovel, and people will wonder what to wear under a coat. This page puts those answers behind one link, so nobody has to ask you on the morning of the wedding. Guests reply yes or no with a guest count and a note, and you see the totals in one list.

What to put on a winter wedding invitation
- Date, start time and the sunset time for that day
- Venue address with a map link and a note about icy approach roads
- Transport: last bus, taxi number or shuttle times from the station
- Dress notes: warm layers, a cloakroom for coats, boots for snow
- Candlelight details: indoor only, where the candles are, and a warning for anyone with a sensitivity to smoke
- Snow plan: the date you will check the forecast, who decides, and where the update will appear
- RSVP form with yes or no, guest count, a note and up to six questions
The page has an RSVP form: guests say yes or no, how many are coming, and anything you ask (allergies, email, phone). You get an email for each reply and a guest list with a CSV export.
When to send it
- 8 weeks before: Send the link and ask for replies by a set date
- 3 weeks before: Check the forecast and add a snow plan note if roads may close
- 1 week before: Post the transport times and the sunset time for the day
- Day before: Check the guest list for silent guests and message them personally
Wording you can use
- โAnna and Daniel are getting married on 14 December, and we would love you to be there.โ Use it
- โThe ceremony starts at 3 pm and the light will be fading by 4 pm, so please bring a torch for the walk from the car park.โ Use it
- โDress warmly: the hall is lit by candles and the courtyard is open to the cold, so a coat and a wrap you can keep on are a good idea.โ Use it
- โIf snow closes the lane, we will update this page by 10 am on the day, so check here before you set off.โ Use it
- โA shuttle will run from the station every 30 minutes between 2 and 6 pm; tell us on the form if you need a seat.โ Use it
- โPlease reply by 15 November so we can plan the candles, the heating and the number of places for the meal.โ Use it
- โChildren are welcome; please write their names in the note on the form so we can count them.โ Use it
Questions
- Does the page work out the sunset time for us?
- No. Type the sunset time for the day into the details in chat or by hand, and the page shows exactly what you wrote. Check it against a reliable source for your town before you publish.
- What if snow means we have to change the plan?
- Edit the page in chat or by hand and put the update at the top. Guests see it when they reopen the link. The page does not send messages to guests, so share the link again or tell people directly.
- Do guests need an account to reply?
- No. Guests open the one link, fill in the RSVP form with yes or no, their guest count and a note, and submit. You get an email for each reply.
- Can I add a seating plan or a gift list?
- There is no seating chart. You can write gift wishes or a note about where to send cards as plain text on the page. The page takes no payments and does not print or ship anything.
