What to put on a wedding invitation wording
- Names of the couple, written the way you want them read aloud
- Who is hosting, if parents or families are giving the invitation
- Date, start time and the place name with a map link
- A short line about the dress code or what to wear
- Adults-only or destination details, if they apply
- RSVP deadline and the questions you want answered
The page has an RSVP form: guests say yes or no, how many are coming, and anything you ask (allergies, email, phone). You get an email for each reply and a guest list with a CSV export.
When to send it
- Now: Choose a tone from the examples and draft the opening line
- When the venue is booked: Add the date, start time and map link to the page
- About 8 weeks before: Send the page link and watch for replies in your inbox
- RSVP deadline: Check the guest list totals and the CSV before you confirm numbers with the venue

Questions
- Should I use formal wording like 'request the honour of your presence'?
- Use it if your wedding is formal or your families expect it. For a relaxed wedding, a plain sentence like 'Anna and Daniel are getting married' reads more warmly and is easier to understand on a phone.
- How do I write an adults-only line without sounding unwelcoming?
- Name the policy plainly and give a short reason, such as wanting a relaxed evening. Put it near the date and location so guests can plan childcare early, and mention any arrangements you have made.
- What do I say for a destination wedding?
- Say where the wedding is, the dates, and whether guests pay their own travel and accommodation. Saying this in the first paragraph helps guests decide quickly whether they can come.
- Who should the invitation name when parents are hosting?
- Name the parents who are hosting first, then the couple. If both families are hosting, list both sets of names. Check that everyone named has agreed to the wording.
- Can I change the wording after I have made the page?
- Yes. Pages are made in chat and can be edited by hand or by asking chat to change a line. Guests who already have the link will see the updated text when they open it.
