How to split a PDF into pages, ranges or chapters
Pull the pages you need out of a long PDF, or cut it into single pages or chapters.

Sending a 200-page report when the reader needs ten pages is unkind. Splitting gives you a smaller file with only what matters. Both tools below run in your browser, so the document is never uploaded.
Split by page ranges
- Open Split PDF and add your file.
- Type the pages you want, for example
1-3, 5, 8-10, or choose Every page for one file per page. - Download the new file, or all the parts together.
Use this to send one chapter, to take a signed page out of a contract, or to break a long scan into parts.
Split by chapters (bookmarks)
If the PDF has bookmarks (the outline you see in the side panel of a PDF viewer), Split by bookmarks makes one PDF for each top-level bookmark and names it after the chapter. You get all of them in one ZIP.
A PDF without bookmarks is told so, and you can use the page-range split instead.
Tips
- Page numbers are those of the PDF itself, not the numbers printed on the pages.
- Pages are copied unchanged: no watermark, no loss of quality.
- Scans split like any other PDF. To read the text of a scan, continue in the chat.
