Turn a receipt into structured JSON with the shop, date, prices and total
Convert a photo or PDF receipt into JSON with the shop, date, each item price and the total kept as printed. Check the table preview free.
This preview shows the first 25 rows and does not keep your file.
Need a different result? Turn anything into anything: drop any file, pick what you want out of it.Try it →A receipt is easy for a person to read but hard for software to use: the shop, date, items, prices and total sit in a loose printed layout. This page reads the receipt and returns JSON with those values as they appear on the paper, so you can load them into a spreadsheet, expense tool or app. Where the receipt does not show a value, the field is left empty rather than filled in.
What you get
Values kept as printed
The shop name, date, each item price and the total are copied exactly as they appear on the receipt. Nothing is recalculated or rounded.
Empty fields instead of guesses
If the receipt does not show a tax line, payment method or other field, that field is left empty. The tool does not fill gaps with assumed values.
Table preview before you commit
You see the rows and columns the JSON would contain before you decide what to do with it, so you can compare them with the receipt first.
How it works
- Step 1
Drop a receipt photo or PDF into the box, or paste its text.
- Step 2
Check the table preview of rows and columns against the receipt.
- Step 3
A free account adds the full JSON download, long and scanned files, batches of files, and editing the structure by asking.
Who uses it
Bookkeepers collecting expense receipts
Turn a batch of paper receipts into records with shop, date and amounts that can be imported into accounting software.
People tracking personal spending
Log purchases from shop receipts in a consistent structure, with each item and price kept on its own line of data.
Developers building or testing an app
Create realistic sample records from real receipts to check how an expense or inventory feature handles items, tax lines and totals.
Questions
Which fields end up in the JSON?
The shop name, date, each purchased item with its price, any tax lines, the total and the payment method when they are printed on the receipt. Each record holds at most 8 fields.
Can it read a photo of a receipt?
Yes, but photos and scanned receipts need a free account, which adds the text recognition (OCR) they require. The preview works on text-based PDFs and pasted text.
Does the tool change prices or totals?
No. It copies the prices and total as printed and does not add up the items itself. If a value is missing from the receipt, its field stays empty.
Is the output always correct?
Not always. Results can contain mistakes, especially from faint or crooked photos, so check the JSON against the original receipt whenever the amount matters.
Does the preview keep my receipt?
No. The preview does not keep the file. A free account is needed to work with whole documents.
