A PDF stores a table as positioned text rather than as cells, so copying it out often runs columns together or splits a row across two lines. This page reads the main table from your PDF and lays it out as rows and columns with one header row, ready for a CSV import. Names, figures and dates are kept as written.

What you get

Rows and columns, not one long line

The main table comes out with one header row and each value in its own column, up to 8 columns, with no merged cells.

Values kept as written

Names, figures, dates and the order of rows stay as they appear in the PDF. Nothing is filled in or calculated, and blank cells stay blank.

Preview first, full table with an account

The preview shows the start of the table from the first 5 pages or about 6,000 characters. A free account gives the complete table and the CSV download.

How it works

  1. Step 1

Paste the text from your PDF or drop the file. The preview reads up to 5 pages (2 MB) or about 6,000 characters.

  2. Step 2

Check the table preview: the header row, the column order and a few figures against the PDF.

  3. Step 3

Create a free account to get every row of long files, the CSV download, OCR for scanned PDFs, batches of files and table edits by asking.

Who uses it

  • Bookkeepers and accounts staff

Turn a supplier price list or account statement sent as PDF into a table you can filter, sort and import into accounting software.

  • Analysts and researchers

Pull a data table out of a published report so the numbers can be checked and charted in a spreadsheet instead of retyped.

  • Small shop and office owners

Get a stock list or order sheet that a supplier sent as PDF into a CSV file you can update and keep.

Questions

Will it work on a scanned PDF?

A scanned PDF is only a picture of the page, so the preview can't read it. Scanned files need a free account, which runs OCR to recover the text before the table is built.

Why are some columns merged or rows split?

Text copied from a PDF often breaks lines in the middle of a row. The tool rebuilds rows where it can, but tables with merged cells or very wide layouts may need a check, and anything beyond 8 columns is not included.

Does the preview read the whole file?

No. The preview reads up to 5 pages of a PDF or about 6,000 characters of text. A free account gives the whole table, every row of long files, and the CSV download.

Can the CSV contain mistakes?

Yes. Results can contain mistakes, so check figures, dates and names against the original PDF before you rely on them, especially for payments or reports.
