QR code invitation for a party
A QR code invitation puts the whole invitation behind one square you can print on a table card, a door poster or the back of a flyer. Guests scan it with their phone camera, see the time, map and programme, and send their RSVP without making an account. You make the code image yourself from your page link and print it wherever suits your party.
Sample party QR code invitation pages
What to put on a party QR code invitation
- Date, start and end time, with the time zone if guests travel
- Map link to the venue entrance, not only the street address
- Programme with times, such as arrival, food, speeches and music
- Notes on dress code, parking and where to leave gifts
- The RSVP question and the date you need answers by
- Add-to-calendar file for guests who want the party in their diary
- A line under the code saying what it opens, such as "Scan for the details and RSVP"
The page has an RSVP form: guests say yes or no, how many are coming, and anything you ask (allergies, email, phone). You get an email for each reply and a guest list with a CSV export.
When to send it
- Two weeks before: Create the page in chat, check every date, time and map link, and scan the test link on two different phones
- Ten days before: Make the code from your page link and print table cards and posters, with a few spares for the door
- One week before: Watch the email alerts and the guest list, and chase anyone who has not replied
- The day before: Put a printed code at the entrance and on each table, and check the page still shows the right start time

Questions
- Do guests need to download anything to scan the code?
- No. Most phone cameras read a QR code and offer to open the link. Guests then see the invitation in their browser and reply without an account.
- Who makes the QR code image?
- You do, from the link your page gives you, using any QR code generator. WordGPT does not print cards or posters, so you print them yourself at home or at a print shop.
- Can I change the time or venue after I have printed the code?
- Yes, as long as the link stays the same. The printed code opens your page, so edits you make in chat show up there without reprinting. If you ever get a new link, you will need to make and print a new code.
- Can I see who scanned the code?
- You see who replies, not who scanned. Each RSVP sends you an email and adds the guest to your list with a yes or no, a guest count, a note and any answers to your questions. A scan without a reply will not show a name.
- Can guests pay or buy tickets through the code?
- No. The page covers the date, map, programme, calendar file, notes and an RSVP with yes or no, guest numbers, a note and up to six questions. There is no payment, ticketing or seating chart.
