Resumes come in many layouts, so the same job history can look different from one template to the next. Copying job titles, employers and dates into a spreadsheet or applicant system by hand is slow and easy to get wrong. This page reads a resume or CV and returns the key details as JSON rows, with values kept as the resume writes them and anything it does not state left empty.

What you get

Values kept as written

Job titles, employers, dates and figures are copied from the resume exactly as they appear, so you can compare each row with the original.

Empty fields stay empty

If a resume does not give a start date, location or other detail, that field is left blank rather than filled with a guess.

PDF, Word or plain text

Paste the text directly or drop a file. The preview reads up to 5 pages or about 6,000 characters, and the file is not kept.

How it works

  1. Step 1

Paste your resume text or drop a PDF, Word or text file into the box above.

  2. Step 2

Read the preview table and check that each job row has the right title, employer and dates.

  3. Step 3

Create a free account to download the full JSON, process long and scanned files and batches, and edit the structure by asking.

Who uses it

  • Recruiters building a candidate list

Check that each CV gives the same fields, such as role, employer and dates, before adding the details to a shared spreadsheet.

  • Developers testing a hiring-data import

See how a resume's sections map to JSON keys before writing or adjusting your own import code, using the preview as a sample.

  • Job seekers reviewing their own CV

Spot missing dates, unclear employer names or inconsistent job titles by seeing how your experience reads once it is split into fields.

Questions

Which details end up in the JSON?

The tool extracts up to eight fields per record from the resume, such as job title, employer and dates. Only details the resume actually gives are filled in.

Does the tool change job titles, employers or dates?

No. They are kept as written in the resume. If a value is unclear or missing, the field is left empty instead of being rewritten or guessed.

Can I convert a scanned resume?

Scanned resumes need text recognition (OCR), which is included with a free account. Without an account, use a PDF or pasted text that already contains selectable text.

How much of my resume does the preview read?

The preview reads up to 5 pages of a PDF (2 MB) or about 6,000 characters of text, and it does not keep your file. A free account handles the whole document.

Can the output contain mistakes?

Yes. Automated extraction can misread layouts or unusual wording, so check the JSON against the original resume before you rely on it, especially for dates and figures.
