Invoices keep their useful data in a table of line items, but PDF and Word layouts often break that table apart when you copy it, so the columns end up scrambled. This page reads the item table and lays it out as CSV, one header row and one row per item. Invoice numbers, dates, amounts and tax are kept exactly as printed.

What you get

One header row, one row per item

The item table becomes plain CSV with a single header row and no merged cells, ready to open in a spreadsheet or import into another system.

Figures kept as printed

Invoice numbers, dates, unit prices, amounts and tax are copied exactly as they appear, with currency symbols and decimal places intact. Nothing is recalculated or guessed.

Up to eight columns

The tool keeps the main columns of the table, such as description, quantity, unit price and amount, and leaves out layout noise like page headers and footers.

How it works

  1. Step 1

Paste the invoice text into the box, or drop the PDF, Word or text file onto it.

  2. Step 2

Check the table preview: each row should be one item and each column one field, with the amounts matching the invoice.

  3. Step 3

Create a free account to get every row of long invoices, the CSV download, OCR for scanned invoices, batch uploads and the option to edit the table by asking for changes.

Who uses it

  • Someone with a stack of supplier invoices

Convert the item table of each invoice to CSV so the lines can be combined into one sheet for comparison.

  • A person checking a supplier's charges

Put the quantities and unit prices from an invoice into rows so they can be compared against a quote or purchase order.

  • A small team moving records between tools

Get the line items out of an invoice in a clean table format before importing them into another spreadsheet or system.

Questions

Does the preview read the whole invoice?

No. The preview reads up to 5 pages of a PDF (2 MB) or about 6,000 characters of text, so a long invoice may show only its first items. A free account gives you every row.

Can it convert a scanned invoice?

Scanned invoices need OCR, which is available with a free account. Without it, a scan can't be read as text in the preview.

Are the amounts and dates exactly as on the invoice?

Yes. Invoice numbers, dates, amounts and tax are copied as printed, including currency symbols and decimals. The tool does not recalculate totals, so the CSV totals match the original invoice.

Will the CSV be perfect?

Results can contain mistakes, especially with unusual layouts, faint scans or merged table cells. Check the rows against the original invoice when the figures matter.

Is my invoice stored after conversion?

The preview does not keep the file. Account features handle whole documents, so check the account terms if you have questions about how files are handled.
