WordGPT

Convert a bank statement to Excel

Turn a bank statement PDF into a clean spreadsheet with date, description, amount and balance. Try it free on your own statement, no sign-up for the preview.

or drop a PDF here (up to 5 pages, 2 MB)

This preview shows the first 25 rows and does not keep your file.

Banks hand out statements as PDFs, which are fine to read and useless to calculate with. Copying the rows into a spreadsheet by hand means fixing every broken column, merged date and wrapped description. WordGPT reads the statement as a table: it finds the columns the bank used, keeps one transaction per row and gives you something you can sort, sum and pivot.

What you get

One transaction per row

Dates, descriptions, amounts out, amounts in and running balance each get their own column, even when the PDF wraps long descriptions over two lines.

Works with the bank you have

There is no template for each bank. The columns are worked out from your statement, so a statement from a small local bank is read the same way as a large one.

Check before you trust

The preview shows the first rows next to the source so you can see that the numbers match before you export the whole statement.

How it works

  1. Step 1

Drop your statement PDF or paste its text.

  2. Step 2

We read the columns and the first transactions.

  3. Step 3

See the preview, then create a free account to export every page to Excel or CSV.

Who uses it

  • Small business owners

Reconcile a month of card payments against invoices without retyping anything.

  • Accountants

Get a client's statements into a workbook the same day they send them.

  • Anyone doing their taxes

Filter a year of transactions by description to find deductible expenses.

Questions

Can I convert a scanned bank statement?

The free preview reads statements that have selectable text. Scanned statements need OCR, which is included once you create a free account.

Is my statement stored?

The preview does not store your file. It is read, turned into a table and discarded; only the result you see is kept briefly so that repeating the same request is instant.

How many pages can I try?

The preview reads up to 5 pages and 2 MB, and shows the first 25 transactions. An account lifts those limits.

Which formats can I export?

Excel (.xlsx) and CSV from your account. The columns stay editable, so you can rename or add your own.

Does it work in other languages?

Yes. Descriptions keep the language of your bank, and column names follow what the statement uses.
