Engagement dinner invitation for family and close friends
An engagement dinner invitation has to do a lot in a few lines: say who is hosting, which restaurant or house, what time the toast happens, and whether grandparents need a lift. This page puts all of that on one link that guests open from their phone, with an RSVP that tells you how many chairs to book.
Sample engagement dinner invitation pages
What to put on a engagement dinner invitation
- Names of both engaged people and which family or families are hosting
- Date, start time and the address of the restaurant or home, with a map link
- Running order: arrivals, dinner, toast, speeches, dessert
- Dress code or a line on how formal the evening is
- Parking, transport or a note about the nearest taxi stand for older guests
- RSVP with yes or no, number of guests, and up to six extra questions such as dietary needs
The page has an RSVP form: guests say yes or no, how many are coming, and anything you ask (allergies, email, phone). You get an email for each reply and a guest list with a CSV export.
When to send it
- 6 weeks before: Send the page link to both families and ask who is hosting the toast
- 4 weeks before: Check the RSVP totals and tell the restaurant the likely headcount
- 10 days before: Send a short reminder by hand to anyone who has not replied yet
- Day before: Re-read the running order and confirm who is giving each speech

Questions
- Who receives the replies?
- You get an email for each reply, and the guest list page shows the running totals for yes, no and number of guests. You can also download the list as a CSV to send to the restaurant.
- Can guests reply without making an account?
- Yes. Guests open the one link, fill in the RSVP and send it. Nobody needs to sign up, which helps older relatives who are not comfortable with new apps.
- Does the RSVP let me set who sits where?
- No. The RSVP asks for yes or no, the number of guests, a note and up to six extra questions. There is no seating chart, so you will plan the tables yourself and use the guest numbers to book them.
- Can I put the speech order on the page?
- Yes. The running order is written as plain lines on the page, so you can show when the toast and speeches happen. You can change it later by editing the page in chat or by hand.
- Can I send the same link to both families?
- Yes, one link works for everyone. If you want separate lists for each side, ask in chat to make a note on the RSVP so you can tell the replies apart in the guest list.
