A brand discovery questionnaire to send before a logo or website project

Make a brand discovery questionnaire to send clients before a logo or website job: audience, values, competitors, tone and colours to avoid.

Help us understand your needs

Five minutes, twelve questions. Your answers shape what we build next; there are no wrong answers.

About you

This is a real form: answer it the way a visitor would. Nothing is saved.

Use this template Describe yours in chatOpen full screen

More to start from: all form, quiz and course templates. Nothing is published until you press Publish, and every answer lands in your account with charts and a CSV.

Most design projects stall because the designer and client never agreed on who the brand is for, or the client rejects a finished logo for reasons nobody asked about at the start. A brand discovery questionnaire collects those answers in writing before any sketching begins. The live sample above is a general market research form; the chat rewrites it for your client's project so the questions match the business you are working on.

What you get

Edit the questions in chat before sending

Describe the client and the project, and the assistant drafts a questionnaire for that brand. Ask it to drop a question, shorten the tone section or add a page on packaging, then publish the result at one link.

Logic and pages

Show a follow-up only when it applies, split a long form into pages, or show one question per screen.

Results you can read

A chart for every question, averages and NPS for scales, the order of a ranking, a table of every answer and a CSV.

How it works

  1. Step 1

Try the sample above, then press Use this template, or describe your own form to the chat.

  2. Step 2

Change any question by hand or ask the assistant ("add a question about price", "translate it to Spanish"), with a live preview.

  3. Step 3

Publish, share the link or QR code, and read the answers as they arrive. You get an email for each one.

Who uses it

  • Freelance logo designer

Sends the questionnaire before the first call, so the meeting starts with written answers about the audience and competitors rather than guesses.

  • Web designer or small agency producer

Adds questions about existing pages, required sections and content owners, then reads the responses on the results page before writing a scope and quote.

  • Small business owner briefing a designer

Uses the form to sort out their own thinking about values, tone and rivals before they hire anyone, so the brief they hand over is clearer.

Questions

Should I ask about budget in a brand questionnaire?

You can ask for a rough budget range and a deadline. Many clients answer more honestly near the end of a form than in the first question, so place it after the questions about the brand itself.

How do I get clients to finish it?

Keep the easy questions first and leave the harder ones, like rivals and colours to avoid, for the middle. Use page breaks so it does not look like one long wall of text, and write a thank-you message that says what happens next.

Where do the answers go?

Each response can be sent to your email, and the results page shows charts and a CSV you can download. You share the form with a link or a QR code.

Does the questionnaire replace a discovery call?

No. Read the answers before the call and ask follow-ups where they are vague or contradict each other, such as a client who wants a premium look but names budget brands as competitors.

Can some questions appear only for certain clients?

Yes. Logic shows a question only when an earlier answer matches, so a client selling online gets a website section while a print-only client skips it.
