Turn anything into anything: drop any file, pick what you want out of it.Try it →A book chapter mixes definitions, worked examples and a closing summary, and it is easy to lose an exact definition or a formula when you read in a hurry. This page turns the chapter into study notes: short headings in the order of the material, 2 to 4 bullets under each, key terms in bold, and every figure kept as written.
What you get
Headings in the order of the chapter
Each section of the chapter becomes a short heading, in the same sequence the material is presented, so the notes follow your reading order.
Key terms in bold
Terms and their definitions are picked out in bold, with the definition kept as the chapter words it.
Figures and formulas as written
Names, dates, formulas and numbers are copied exactly. The notes use only what the chapter says, with nothing added from outside it.
How it works
- Step 1
Paste the chapter text or drop the PDF, Word or text file.
- Step 2
Read the notes preview: headings in order, 2 to 4 bullets under each, key terms in bold.
- Step 3
A free account gives the full notes for longer files, the notes as an editable document, a different level of detail, and flashcards and a quiz made from the same notes.
Who uses it
Students revising before an exam
Turn a chapter you read weeks ago into a page of notes you can scan in the last few days before a test.
Students who missed a lecture
Get the chapter's main sections and key terms in order, so you can catch up on the reading without rereading every page.
Readers working through a dense textbook section
Keep a running set of notes as you go, with definitions and formulas kept exactly as the book gives them.
Questions
Are definitions and formulas kept exactly as written?
Yes. The notes keep definitions, names, dates, formulas and figures exactly as the chapter gives them, and use only what the chapter says. The output is in the same language as the chapter.
How much of a long chapter does the preview read?
The preview reads up to 5 pages of a PDF (2 MB) or about 6,000 characters of text. A free account handles the whole chapter, and the preview does not keep your file.
Can I use a scanned chapter?
Scanned pages need OCR to read the text, and OCR needs a free account. Text-based PDFs, Word files and pasted text work in the preview without one.
Are the notes always accurate?
The notes can contain mistakes, so check them against the original chapter when accuracy matters, such as before an exam or when you quote a formula or date.
